National History Day Award Winners

Stilwell students received numerous awards at the  National History Day District awards ceremony held  February 13th at the PAC where this years theme was Taking a Stand in History.  The students choose historical events including Supreme Court cases to research and write historically accurate scripts. These students will go on to compete in the regional competition on March 4th at Clayton State. Students received awards on the following categories. 

 Performance category:  Best in Fair: Roe v. Wade Taking a Stand for Women's Rights- Kalissa Hernandez,  Dranae Clark,  Toriyah Fields, Taylor Tookes

 1st place: Anne Hutchinson and Roger Williams' Stand Against the Social Order- Amaya Jinks, Kennedy Malone, Tre' Horton 

2nd place: Ms. Claudette and Ms. Rosa Take a Stand by Sitting Down-Tijah Arnett, Eilahn Tauriac, Ivy Ballenger, Khaili

 3rd place: Dollree Mapp Taking a Stand for Civil Liberties- Raven Collier, Peyton Holston

 Documentary category: 1st place: Homer v. Plessy and Brown v. BOE : A Stand for Civil Rights- Tri Mai, Brianna White, Vantida Chan, Fadilla Sassil, Genesis Harris

 Best in Show (for their superior ratings)
