Stilwell Makes Top High School List
Stilwell School of the Arts competed in Georgia High School Association’s AA State One Act Play Competition. Each AA school that won their Region competed at the state level, totaling 8 schools. I am pleased to announce that our show, Amadeus, placed as the runner up. In addition, Ketsia Alberto won the title of Best Actress. Marsalis Causey and Nubia Causey were also awarded the All Star cast members judge’s awards. Our wonderfully talented Nyla Jones, Caleb Middleton and Daniel Gyimah have been selected to participate in the 2020 GMEA All-State Sight-Reading Chorus that will be held in Athens, Georgia, January 23-25, 2019. This is the most select high school choral group in the State. Students audition for this group by sight-reading very difficult musical examples and making a high score. Nyla, Caleb and Daniel were the only students in CCPS this year to reach a score high enough to win placement in Sight-Reading chorus. Congratulations to each of these Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts choral students! Our superintendent, Dr. Beasley attended our One Act Play "Amadeus" October 18, 2019. He was ecstatic about the show and tweeted a few photos including the two posted below.
